With two densely populated cities and countless relationships to the world around China, it is inevitable that there would be copious non-governmental organizations and non-profit internships to take advantage of. These organizations can range from protecting China’s history and culture, more contemporary organizations handling medical needs of China’s mainland population, advocacy work for disaffected communities, and environmental preservation for instance. The non-profit companies in Beijing and Shanghai may ask for help gaining sponsors for their business to continue, a task interns will assist with, or the non-governmental organization can be working with Mandarin-speaking Chinese folks that are telling their stories. Internships placement can be found in these various fields as well as public relations, marketing, design, etc.

This program provides interns with first hand experience in various fields with local NGO's (Non-Governmental Organization's). Interns may take part in projects that provide education to children and adults, or projects that promote health-related education by teaching proper hygiene and sanitation. Other projects include working on national poverty awareness campaigns, environmental conservation, and fundraising projects.

France plays a large role in solving humanitarian, environmental and political issues, and our philosophy of customizing programs for each student means that you can intern in areas that interest you!  Interns have helped by starting education initiatives, researching for think tanks and organizing events to promote their NGO!

* Must be a current University student to intern in France.

* Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of the French language required.

India, Mumbai specifically, has a wide variety of NGOs for interns to work with to develop and sustain various aspects of the economy.  This program will allow students to fill a valuable role for these organizations in a variety of functions, such as fundraising, raising awareness for service projects and direct community engagement.  With the extreme stratification of Mumbai’s citizens, there is always room for someone to leave a positive mark.  

There are a lot of various non-profit groups in Nepal to suit your particular area of interest.  Tasks can range from interns being an active part of fundraising efforts; create awareness of the individual mission of the project, such as education, health, hygiene, environmental issues, and more.  Other tasks may include writing reports and proposals, community engagement, and various administrative work.

An internship with a non-governmental organization (NGO) can provide you with the basic tools to explore the immense field and philosophy of social justice and worldly cultural knowledge. New York City’s diverse communities and neighborhoods that stretch through the boroughs allow the option for placements in domestic NGOs as well as international-minded organizations. Internships can be found in such organizations that handle im/migration issues, social change, environmental justice, education, international development, children and families, among others.
